Stuart Bowyer: The Chakra’s. What? Where? & How?

Energy exists in all things in the known universe. There are seven main energy points in the body, these are called Chakras.

The Chakra Points, can determine how you feel. Chakras are like vortices of energy that spin both from the front of our bodies and the back. These energy centres can get blocked and sluggish at times, therefore making certain aspects of our life or physical body feel the same way. They can also spin too fast and become overactive; this in turn can also cause imbalances on various levels.

Therefore, what we strive to achieve is a nicely balanced chakra system, so that each centre is working at its optimum level for us to feel healthy and harmonious in all aspects.

The Chakras can also help you to communicate with the spirit realm. By learning to open your Chakras you push your energy level out, which 'opens' you for spiritual communication as well.

This experiential talk will help guide you all to understand the chakra and energy systems of your own bodies and to develop your own rebalancing methods and spiritual communication methods.

Carole Samunda: NLP and Hypnosis

I am currently training in NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) & Hypnotherapy. Having always been interested in people and how they think, this area of learning has had an immense impact on me and I would like the opportunity to share this with you.

So what is NLP & Hypnotherapy? NLP is a way of understanding how we think. It is a way of helping us to understand and use the differences in how we think. Many of the problems people experience are caused by the way they think about them. If we can change the way we think about a situation we can change the problem. We can all do more than we think we can and this is where hypnotherapy comes in. Many people have concerns about ‘being in trance’ they feel they will be out of control and could be made to do things they would not choose to do. I will explain why this is not the case and the beneficial and therapeutic uses of this type of process. By the end of the session, I hope you will understand more about yourself, more about NLP and Hypnotherapy and more about your ability to turn positive thoughts into positive actions.

Christine Boyd : Past Life Regression

Within each of us reside the events of past lives. A migraine, chronic lower back pain or knee problem may be telling a story from an old accident or wound. A sore throat may derive from strangling, hanging or choking. As the soul returns to life over and over these traumatic memories are re-created in our current life often making little sense, and keeping us from living peaceful lives. They are brought to our conscious awareness by anxiety, panic attacks, anger, depression, phobias, obsessions, recurring relationship problems, nightmares and unexplainable physical pain. Past Life Regression allows us to see beyond the confusion and illusions of this life and brings about a healing of the past life that resonates into our current life.

Rhys Ridgwell : The Medium of Art ” Connect with your Inner Voice through the Medium of Art"

As individuals we co-exist within two worlds: the external world of circumstance- events that shape and govern our lives, and our own internal, private world.

Using the focus of a theme or guided fantasy it’s possible for you to tap into that private world and to capture an image. The image acts as a bridge between you and your inner voice. Using the language of the metaphor to explore your drawing it is possible to connect with the wisdom of your higher-self.

In fact history-ically this ceremony has been performed amongst many cultures including in Europe and the UK but the ceremonies and ritual practices have been forgotten and disappeared with time.

Some countries have continued this legendry ceremony practised in many different ways but the fundamental basis of each one being a connection to Mother Earth, the Universe, each living being and ourselves bringing an awareness of cleansing, balancing, re-energizing, re-focusing and a multitude of other dynamics experienced individually and collectively. Through this contact we come to a better understanding of our place in the Universe, our relationship to ourselves and to all things.

Success relies upon a multi dimensional approach; incorporating permanent lifestyle (relaxation, exercise & coping with stress) and dietary changes to address your concerns.

Beverley Chilcott : Feng Shui - Creating a Healing Space

For thousands of years the Chinese have applied the philosophy of Feng Shui to create auspicious energy flow within their surroundings. Literally translated as Wind and Water or the harmony between nature and living beings, Feng Shui utilizes the delicate flow of universal life energy to enhance our lives. Feng Shui has been called environmental acupuncture simply because we are working with the energy meridians around us and enhancing the Chi, or beneficial energy, flow within the environment. Using these ancient principles and your clear intention, you can discover how to enhance your environment and create harmony, abundance, and well-being for yourself, your family and your clients

. As an Usui and Karuna Master, I have taught some of the principles of Feng Shui on my courses for the last 11 years to help increase the effectiveness of treatments and promote well-being for my students and our clients. Our treatments are only part of the help we give our clients. Our role is to facilitate their changes to bring about well-being and an energy-rich lifestyle and environment for them. A basic knowledge of the energy flows in the home or office can enhance and improve the effectiveness of our treatments. Many health problems can be affected by blocked energy in the home and it may be a factor in weakening the immune system as it affects our ability to resist disease.

I now teach Feng Shui and Space Clearing workshops as well as Usui, Karuna and Seichem Reiki courses, EFT and Kinesiology. If you would like to learn how to make your home a more energy-rich and healthier environment, I’ll be delighted to give you an insight into this fascinating subject.

Deepthi Niranjan : Ayurveda - Nature's Ancient Secret

Ayurveda, or the science of life, is one of the most remarkable holistic systems in the world. It originated in India and is believed to have been in existence for over 5,000 years. It has only started to gain prominence in the West relatively recently.

Ayurveda aims to enable individuals to avoid illnesses, rather than waiting for them to develop before they can be treated. It is a system for maintaining health, as well as curing illnesses, through adherence to natural rhythms and cycles. Ayurveda encompasses knowledge of complete balance of the body, mind and spirit at all levels. It includes in its consideration, longevity, rejuvenation and self-realisation therapies through herbs, diet, exercise, lifestyle choices, yoga, massage, aromas, mantras, and meditation. By simply factoring in the above steps, individuals are empowered by nature to both overcome ailments and maintain good health.

The major difference between Ayurveda and conventional medicine lies in the treatment method - while most modern medical treatments operate at the symptomatic level, Ayurvedic treatments work at much deeper causative levels. By balancing the doshas (primary life-forces within the body), the root of the problem is solved.

Ayurveda’s fundamental belief is that whatever we can do for ourselves to improve our health, is far more effective in the long run than what another person can do for us. Ayurveda offers everyone the chance to re-discover for themselves what their optimal conditions might be and thereby begin the journey towards maintaining good health consistently. It's never too late for us to start helping ourselves.

Richard Grey : Turning Dreams into Reality

Goal Mapping is a combination of ancient wisdom and modern, accelerated learning techniques, woven together with goal setting principles into one holistic system for sustainable success. Goal-mapping will help you develop your natural mental ability of conscious intention into a powerful skill for achievement. Whatever your dream, Goal Mapping, ‘PICTURE SUCCESS’ and drawing out your potential can help you achieve it.

Jo Osborne : Taijiwuxigong

Taijiwuxigong is a series of self-healing exercises which has its roots in Tai Chi and the ancient Chinese understanding of energetic practises. Exercises are simple and can be as strong or light as is required by the practitioner. Working to activate the energy system using standing and moving positions, mental concentration and the breath we develop the internal forces to generate the clearing of the five main energy channels in the body; the effects of which both generate health and provides a tool for personal development. We work with vibrational forces and spontaneous body movement forces. Jo has regular daytime and evening classes in Godalming and Farnham and some one day workshops. She also works with horses with Buqi which are the healing forces that have been developed through working with this practise. To contact Jo jo@joosborne.com

Caroline Mitchell : Dragon Wisdom

The wisdom and energy of the Dragons is ancient, and they are almost certainly of Atlantis. They are made up of the very fabric of everything that is, has been, and will be, including our humanness, and the Divine.

They are Alchemists of our world and carry most ancient knowledge known to man, that of pure magik. They work with sound and symbols the most well known of these being the Merkabah. They just love sacred geometry and sound; the way it weaves and moves together.

This is now Our Time – and the Dragons purpose it to help us fulfil it – their lessons are to help us stop feeling and behaving like victims, feeling that we have no control over our lives and the outside world – for we do – it’s the choices we make that can make us feel so powerless.

They want to teach us to stand in our power by entering our hearts, embracing it totally, and to learn to take full responsibility for all our experiences and our feelings. They want to help us find and honour our True Authentic Self.

The greatest joy for the Dragons is when we finally ‘let go’ and fully embrace our power, truth, integrity and learn to honour ourselves.

Joanna Bristow-Watkins : Sound Healing with Voice and Tuning Forks

Sounds introduce a vibration into the energy field, which is transmitted via the cerebrospinal fluid and connective tissue into the cells.

Tuning forks produce a pure sound, a single frequency without harmonics. It is speculated that by generating a sound movement, which coincides with the cranial rhythmic impulse, we can stimulate the basic healing mechanism of the body. By creating sound wavelengths between the frequency of Alpha and Theta brainwaves, we can promote a relaxed or even dream state within the listener.

Joanna also utilises vocal tones which are intuitive and vary considerably in style and pitch. She has developed a negative energy drain system for use on the body and afterwards vocal sounds recalibrate the cells and fill the area with vibrant healthy energy.

Rhys Ridgewell : "Finding God" An Inward Journey of Self Realisation

The talk is about my spiritual journey of how I was awakened to the realisation of my spirit and the existence of God. As part of my spiritual awakening I channelled spiritual poetry about a subject I had no conscious knowledge of. The poetry is an intrinsic part of the talk as well as words of inspiration channelled through spirit.

I have worked with young people for most of my working career. Part of my experience was spent working in a psychiatric adolescence unit in the capacity of a group facilitator and counsellor. I am qualified in Youth Counselling & Person Centred Art Therapy. After a long lapse of illness I am hoping, in the near future, to return back to work as a clairvoyant Astrologer & Numerologist.

Julie Wootten, Meditation for Health, Relaxation and Beyond

There are many different types of meditation, but whatever type you practice, your body and mind will benefit from it. Meditation has been described by a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School as being as important to the body as exercise! Come and find out about the benefits of meditation and experience a few different techniques.

To me, finding meditation was an important part of my recovery form M.E. Prior to the M.E. I had always been a very active person (bordering on over-active, if the truth be known!). Work and housework took up most of my time spent very little time on myself and time to relax just wasnt on the agenda.
My journey to recovery, which included Healing and Crystals, made me look at my spirituality, which had been non-existent in my previous life as a school teacher. I started to learn meditation and relaxation techniques at the N.F.S.H. Healing centre and this quiet time in my life became very important to me. Little did I know at the time that until you learn to relax your body doesnt fully self-heal, hence these quiet time in my life were also part of my road to recovery.

Many people find it hard to switch off from our busy lives. There is always something to think about the shopping list going through our minds or the 101 jobs we still have to do. Hence some the focus of my initial meditation work is often on visualisation and breathing techniques, because until we can relax our bodies and still our minds inner growth will be limited.

As someone who is not too keen on strenuous exercise, I was very pleased to read an article by Dr Herbert Benson, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He is convinced that quiet inactivity such as relaxation and meditation are just as important to long-term health as exercise. To me, I would much prefer meditating than pounding non a treadmill at the gym!

As well as calming your mind, meditation helps to:-
lower you blood pressure, heart rate & metabolic rate,
 it slows down breathing rate,
 positively affects hormone levels
 relaxes tense muscles
 reduces pain levels
 stimulate our bodys self-healing mechanisms
 improve digestion
 positively affects hormone levels and

 improve digestion

I personally have had some tremendous experiences whilst meditating, including coming up with my business idea of Body in Balance even the name came to me whilst meditating! Often meditations to use with my clients come to me whilst I am meditating.

I started off running meditation/relaxation classes in 2003. I was given the opportunity to run these from the PhysioStudio in Binfield. The owner rightly believed that meditation and relaxation would benefit her patients and reduce their pain levels. This was an important break for me and my path back to work.

I now run one-to-one sessions from my therapy room at my home in Binfield. I have found that I can tailor these sessions to benefit the individuals and work on what they need most e.g. relaxation, stress relief, or something more spiritual. I also run Crystal and Angel Study groups where as well as learning about a specific Crystal or Angel, we also spent an hour meditating with the crystal or angel, with a guided meditation.

Beverley Chilcott, Behavioural Kineseology

Are your old patterns holding you back?

Behavioural Kinesiology in a nutshell!

Kinesiology traditionally meant the study of muscles and movement. Today, it is used in a wider context to describe the science of muscle testing as a tool which can be used to detect and correct imbalances in the body whether physical or emotional.
As a Behavioural Kinesiologist, I use muscle testing to tap into the bodys knowledge of itself on all levels to identify and release old restricting patterns of behaviour, whether physical, mental or emotional, and replace them with new positive ones. I work regularly with fears, phobias, dyslexia, autism, ADHD, weight and relationship problems as well as chronic physical problems such as stiff joints and back problems, fibromyalgia, MS, ME, hormonal problems and cancer.
Once the patterns have been identified, I use muscle testing to find the bodys preferred way to remove them. I use various healing modalities such as tuning forks, light torch, essences, cranial work, reiki, EFT and classic Touch for Health corrections.
Id love to explain this fascinating therapy to you and help you to understand yourself - and your blocks - better.

Rachel McCallum, An Introduction to Reflexology

An outline of the types of ailments that respond well to Reflexology and the training a Reflexologist undergoes before they go into practise.

A description of where on the foot the organs of the body are said to be positioned and then how a Reflexlogist would plan a course of treatment and a demonstration of techniques used. Also an opportunity to have a short practise on each other, most probably using the hands rather than the feet. This illustrates how therapeutic even a short treatment can be as it relaxes the individual.

About Rachel McCallum: I trained as a Registered General Nurse in the early 1980's and worked in various areas of the Health Service until 1993 when I went to live in Argentina. In 1999 I returned to the UK and trained as a Holistic Therapist, this is when I trained in Reflexology, Massage and Aromatherapy, I set up my practise in September 2000 and have been working from home and teaching occassional private classes since then. In 2000 I embarked on a four year training as a Homeopath and have now been in private practise as a Homeopath since September 2004.

Anne Robinson, Reiki - Hands on Healing

Reiki is one of the fastest growing therapies in the West.

What exactly is it and what are its roots, how does it differ from spiritual healing?

How is todays reiki different from the original source, and why is there so much interest in it? How can reiki be used as a tool for self development?

These are some of the questions I intend to explore in my talk, as well as giving a brief history of reiki and explaining the structure around it.

Patrick Hamouy, Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT)

History of Emotional Freedom Therapy (EFT):
In 1980 Dr. Roger Callahan was working with a patient, Mary, for an intense water phobia. She suffered from frequent headaches and terrifying nightmares, both of which were related to her fear of water. To seek help, she had been going from therapist to therapist for years....with no material improvement.

Dr. Callahan tried to help her by conventional means for a year and a half. He didn't make much headway either. Then one day he stepped outside the normal "boundaries" of psychotherapy. Out of curiosity, he had been studying the body's energy system and decided to tap with his fingertips under her eyes (an end point of the stomach meridian). This was prompted by her complaint of some stomach discomfort.

To his astonishment, she announced immediately that her phobia was gone and she raced down to a nearby swimming pool and began throwing water in her face. No fear. No headaches. It all went away....including the nightmares. And it has never returned. She is totally free of her water phobia.

Results like that are rare in the field of psychotherapy...but commonplace with EFT.

How can people benefit from EFT?
Negative emotions are one of the leading cause of ill health. By using EFT and quickly and efficiently getting rid of these negative emotions, a person can regain health.

I teach Emotional Freedom Therapy to students and also have private customers come to me for treatment. I consider it as a major weapon in my endeavour to help clients with their health problems.

For full details of EFT see Patrick’s article or check out his website: www.therapies.com
Appointments can be made by phoning him on 01628 637 051

Patrick’s Hot tips:
1. Get rid of your negative emotions as this is one of the main cause of disease
2. Emotional Freedom Therapy works on the emotional and the physical
3. Emotional Freedom Therapy is simple to learn and to use
4. Emotional Freedom Therapy is a truly holistic therapy as it works on the mind, body (through meridians) and spirit
5. Quick results in most cases when other methods would take much longer
6. I have personally successfully helped customers who suffered from phobias, physical pains, negativity, depression, addictions, overweight, nail biting, back stiffness and many more
7. A success rate of over 90% this year with Emotional Freedom Therapy

Martyn Jones, Alexander Technique Teacher

I got into the Alexander Technique due to a whiplash injury to my neck. Soon after starting lessons I recovered all mobility in my neck and saw the Technique as an effective way of increasing freedom and ease in the body. I think a lot of people would like and appreciate this as they go about their busy stressful lives.

The Alexander Technique allows the Student to be able to have a conscious control over tensions that build in the body in everyday life from tightening the jaw and contracting the face muscles, to tensing the back muscles ending in back pain.

When learning the Alexander Technique you need a teacher who will be able to guide and prompt you to release your tense muscles. Every person has their own unique forms of tensions locked into their bodies over many years.

I have been involved with the Alexander Technique for 7 years. Three of those years were in training. I am a member of the Society of Teachers of the Alexander Technique, STAT for short. I have a studio in my apartment in Crown Wood, Bracknell. Lessons can be scheduled to suit the Student.

Marina Duskov, Holographic Repatterning

HOLOGRAPHIC REPATTERNING: The Process for Positive Change

Holographic Repatterning was developed by Chloe Faith Wordsworth over a 25 year period of studying and practising various systems of healing. Chloe synthesized this new and dynamic system of self-healing by applying her training in Acupuncture, Polarity Therapy, brain integration and other healing systems along with her knowledge of psychology, physics, holograms and sound frequencies.

Holographic Repatterning® is a Process that makes it possible for us to create positive change in any area of our life where we experience limitation. Also it can release generational patterns as well.

The list of benefits from a Holographic Repatterning session is endless as the technique can be applied to any area in your life. For example, Holographic Repatterning can transform problems such as:

Lack of confidence; Nervousness and anxiety; Stress and tension; Reactive behaviour; Fears and phobias; Aches and pains; Negativity; Fatigue

It is also extremely effective in helping to:
Generate change in attitude, belief systems and behaviour patterns
Increase self esteem
Gain deeper self awareness and self acceptance
Prepare you for interviews, exams and auditions
Increase your energy level
Enhance your relationships
Orient you to your purpose in life

In the session, information is gathered using the tool of muscle checking (using only client’s arm), a technique used to access the body's own wisdom. We store a lifetime of experiences, thoughts and memories in our bodies.

The practitioner asks the body what physical, mental and emotional tension it needs to release in order to return to optimum health. The body is then offered various therapeutic techniques and is able to select the treatment which will help to restore balance.
The diagram of the double spiral shows that every situation has Point of Choice.
Based on the principal that everything has a frequency of energy that is coherent or non-coherent. Coherence is about unity; cells get together and work in unity. Non-coherence means cells are not working together in unity.

All of our negative thoughts, feelings, difficult life experiences and relationships are the result of non-coherent frequency patterns. Holographic Repatterning enables us to identify and transform these energy constrictions and unconscious patterns that underlie any problems we may be experiencing in our life: pain, sickness and unworkable relationships. This dynamic system emphasizes a holistic approach to health. As a result, healing takes place on all levels - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual.

Good health, harmonious relationships and the success and pleasure we receive from our life and work are determined by the state of our frequency patterns, which may be coherent or non-coherent. All our negative thoughts, feelings, difficult life experiences and relationships are the result of non-coherent frequency patterns.

The HR practitioner is able to identify the exact pattern of non-coherence underlying your problems by using the extensive options listed in all the HR books and the muscle indicator response.

Preparation for the client is not needed, nor do they need to bring anything. The session is usually conducted while sitting down and talking unless it is the more appropriate to lie down.

My first introduction to Holographic Repatterning was an event led by Cloe Wordsworth at the end of 1996. I started training in 1997 and from then put into practise each module until I completed the course. After that I had to give and receive at least 100 sessions under supervision of four qualified teachers of Holographic Repatterning before I qualified as a level 2 Practitioner in 1999.

My background is in personal development in various roles as well as gaining Advance diploma in Hypnotherapy and NLP in 1995. I also qualified in Reiki 1 & 2 in 1999/2000

Bekki Hill, Life Coach

Life Coaching And The Unstoppable Combination of Values, Goals and Beliefs.

I got into life coaching in the year 2000, having experienced the way it rebuilt my confidence and turned my life around after a nightmare experience. I was so impressed, I trained to become a life coach. I qualified in May 2002 and now run my own coaching practice. I am also a mentor coach for The UK College of Life Coaching and write articles and features for popular magazines about life coaching and related subjects.

A non-directive life coach recognises you have all the wisdom and knowledge inside you to start making more of your life right now. Of course things get in the way. We all have challenges. But if you don’t start now, then when are you going to start? If you’ve got a good reason not to start, you don’t know where to start, or it just sounds too plain scary, then life coaching could help you.

As a non-directive coach I work using “The unstoppable combination of values, goals and beliefs,” as the foundation to enable my clients to make changes, and in many cases, transform their lives.

Values
Values are the ‘personal rules’ or qualities that are important to us, they effectively define who we are. They are one of the fundamental elements that influence our emotions and desires, and therefore the goals and the actions we take to achieving them.
By hiring a coach to help us discover our values, we gain the key that unlocks the influences behind much of our motivation and behaviour: Two elements which are fundamental to what we achieve in life.

Behaviour
By recognising the reasons behind why we behave in certain ways, we can become less stressed and more influential over the situations we find ourselves in.
Motivation

Our motivation, doesn’t just determine whether we succeed, but whether the success we achieve truly satisfies us. Once we understand the influences behind what satisfies us, it’s easier for us to determine and achieve goals that truly make us happy.

Goals
A lot of people don’t like setting goals, because they’re afraid they won’t achieve them. However, goals aren’t chiselled rock. They’re simply a target to aim for. -Consider the analogy of an archer firing his bow, if he hasn’t got a target to aim for, why bother to draw his arrow in the first place?

By anchoring our goals to our values, we ensure that the goals we are headed for are really what we want and also goals we feel inspired to achieve.

Beliefs
Beliefs are what we believe to be true (even if it isn’t) and consequently beliefs create the limits to the goals we set, and sometimes prevent us setting goals.
Beliefs are built up as we experience life. However, we often maintain old beliefs once circumstances or we ourselves have changed. Also the way in which our brain processes information and forms memories can lead to our thinking causing barriers and obstacles to achieving what we really want.

Recognising and working with our beliefs, helps us to establish better goals and allows us to clear the path to the life we desire.

Do you put off doing the things you want to do?
Do you put up with things you don’t want in your life?
Do you have ‘reasons’ your life isn’t exactly the way you want it?

Life coaching helps us to see the wood for the trees, so we can tap into the wisdom and knowledge inside ourselves to make more of our lives.

How are People Coached?
Coaching delivered on a one to one basis is tailored to fit the unique requirements of each individual. I coach people to build confidence, reduce stress, achieve goals, work on and discover their life purpose, build small businesses in creative areas and I also work with writers to help them become more successful.

Coaching can take place either face to face or over the telephone (which may sound strange, but actually aids focus and is extremely effective and time efficient.)
I also run a development workshop for writers.

Ten Hot Tips, For if you Decide to Hire a Coach...

1. Before you start to look for a coach ask yourself if you’re ready to do the work and make the changes. A coach will do there utmost to help you. But you are the one who has to work at it.
2. Look for a coach with a qualification. -Coaching is a fashionable term and there are many people calling themselves coaches who aren’t properly trained. Some don’t even know what life coaching means.
3. Ask your potential coach who their qualification is with. -There are many cheap correspondence qualifications where no practical work is even assessed. Look at their training provider on the internet as though you wanted training. Ask yourself, “Who would I choose to train with?” Also ask, “Who ensures that training body maintains its standards?”
4. The ICF are the American coaching body. The internet can give the impression their endorsement is the standard to look for. Their coaches are well trained, but are often much more directive than British coaches.
5. Ask your potential coach if they have a code of ethics and what it is.
6. A good coach can clearly articulate the difference between coaching and counselling.
7. Any coach with integrity will be happy to answer any questions you have about their work or themselves. Don’t be embarrassed to ask them.
8. You’ll be talking about personal stuff here. Find a coach who you feel comfortable taking to.
9. If your life coach tells you what they think you should do, they’re not coaching.
10. It’s your life and it’s precious. A good coach can help you make changes, a bad coach could ruin it.

Martin Lewis, Applied Kinesiology

My name is Martin Lewis and I became involved with Kinesiology as a result of becoming ill with what my doctor called ‘general stress syndrome’ in 1998. I qualified in 1999/2000 gaining a Certificate in Balanced Health 1-4 and have since gained additional modules to this basic qualification. I am now qualified to Kinesiology National Occupational Standard - a government recognised qualification.

Kinesiology was discovered by George Goodheart in 1965 and links the traditional Chinese theory of meridian energy flow found in acupuncture and acupressure with Western style muscle testing, diet and stress management. Muscle testing is a form of language which communicates with the body. Simple, gentle and non-intrusive muscle testing enables the client’s own body to reveal imbalances which can then be treated. Kinesiology deals with the underlying cause of illness NOT the symptom. It enables the body to function more efficiently and due to this there are many benefits including: better posture, pain relief, efficient digestion, and endocrine system ( the body’s own repair kit) balance.

I have clinics in Reading and Newbury. I also arrange talks and demonstrations nationwide. My contact number is 07968 740550 or by e-mail at:
martin@kinesiology.fslife.co.uk or my website at www.kinesiology.fslife.co.uk

MY Hot tips!

Drink at least 10 tumblers of plain tap water a day (forget bottled water - it is often contaminated)

Eat protein as a snack in between meals

NEVER skip breakfast

If you have metal fillings get them removed.

A good therapist is NOT determined by how many letters they have after their name. It is based on YOUR instinct.

If the therapy you are having feels right then give the therapist a chance. There is a ‘right time’ for every therapy. If it doesn’t feel right then move on.

Word of mouth is the best way to find a good therapist

Everything in your life needs to be in balance with everything else. Balance is the key to good health.

Joanna Bristow-Watkins, Good Vibrations

After five years as managing director of a chain of travel agencies through the 1990 Gulf War and continued recession, Joanna left her stressful career behind. Two caesareans later, she started a quest for holistic well-being, following a chance remark by another mother. Having personally discovered the benefits of Reiki and subsequently Sekh Em, a new vocation was born. This led to the rewarding experience of spiritual awareness and Joanna felt compelled to pass this amazing opportunity onto others. Having trained as a practitioner, then up to and beyond Mastery level, she was able to offer Sekh Em training, in addition to other holistic workshops.

More recently, Joanna has developed Reyad Sekh Em a unique combination of the elemental healing rays (of earth, fire, water, air and spirit) with the use of colour breathing, sound vibration, crystalline and angelic healing energies. She also escorts Harmony Journeys to sacred sites in the UK and globally.

Joanna says “We live in a multi-dimensional reality and many of us, consciously or unconsciously, shift in and out of various dimensions all the time. These other dimensions co-exist in the same physical ‘space’ as ours and are host to other living energy beings (Angels, Ascended Masters, various Elemental Devas and other spirits), many of whom have a far greater perception of our universe - and the role of the human race within it - than we can easily understand. Thus heaven and earth co-exist right here, as do our past and future selves!

The separation between these different dimensions is quite simply vibration; within each dimension we operate and exist at a different vibratory rate. Most of us are unable to consciously alter this and hence we are oblivious to any other existence but our own. Most of us requested this state for our present incarnation but Psychics or Mediums communicate with these other dimensions by raising their own cellular vibration (activating their Higher Selves) so that they can see, hear, feel or intuit messages.”

In this light-hearted but informative presentation listen to Joanna’s views on how to pursue an accelerated path to enlightenment.

See Joanna’s articles Part I and Part II and Harmony Healing ads for more details or go to www.harmonyhealing.co.uk

HOW TO BRING ANGELS INTO YOUR LIFE

Joanna says "We live in a multi-dimensional reality and many of us, consciously or unconsciously, shift in and out of various dimensions all the time. Joanna will introduce us to the Angels of the Week and the Elemental Angels. She will then show us that they are waiting for us to call upon them and invite them into our lives for many different reasons.

REYAD SEKH EM

An introduction to Joanna's newly developed Egyptian energy healing system Reyad Sekh Em. Reyad Sekh Em is an ultra high vibrational energy healing system utilising the elemental healing rays of earth, air, fire, water and ether (spirit) with angelic, etheric crystalline and sound vibration. The system also embraces the ancient Egyptian Philosophies according to the local oral tradition wisdom keepers. The presentation will include demonstrations.

Tracey James, CranioSacral Therapy: The Healing Touch

Most of you must read the word “CranioSacral Therapy” and think what on earth does this therapy mean, never mind the fact that you can’t pronounce it? My belief is that regardless of the name, “it’s the healing touch that you gain”!

So, what is this “healing touch”?
The “healing touch” is a light pressure applied to appropriate areas of your body to achieve your sense of balance on mental, physical and emotional levels.

What can CranioSacral Therapy do for you?
Are you in a situation where you feel stressed, tired or unable to sleep properly? Do you suffer from pain that simply won’t go away? If so, then your system may be out of balance. Your body has an inherent knowledge of how to heal itself. CranioSacral Therapy facilitates this healing process by the application of this “healing touch”. This allows for the releasing and unwinding of your tissues, thereby removing any restrictions in your body that may be responsible for your symptoms.

Where is this craniosacral system found in your body?
The craniosacral system is essentially a fluid system that makes up the core of your body. It consists of your skull, spinal and pelvic bones; the brain and nervous system, the membranes surrounding the central core and last but not least, the cerebrospinal fluid, which nourishes and supports this system. The motion of this craniosacral system can be felt anywhere in your body.

What does CranioSacral Therapy feel like?
Since everybody is unique and our bodies differ, this usually differs from person to person. You may experience one or more of the following:
Deep sense of relaxation.
You may just drift off to sleep during the treatment.
You may feel your body releasing, warmth, pulsing etc.
You may experience “old pains” that re-occur temporarily and then pass away.
You may feel teary or emotional during treatment. This is perfectly normal and is probably just what your body needs.
Anything else may be perfectly normal.

How do the treatment sessions work?
The number and duration of treatment sessions is entirely individually based. The session usually lasts for one hour and the number of sessions will vary depending on your problem. The nice thing is that you don’t have to undress for the treatment.

How did CranioSacral Therapy come about?
CranioSacral Therapy has its beginnings rooted in Osteopathy. Investigations since the 1920s, focused on the cranial (skull) bones and their movement(s).

In the early 1970’s, Dr John Upledger and his team of researchers from the University of Michigan discovered the craniosacral system. They discovered that the membranes that were found within this system played a key role in the movement of the cranial bones.

Techniques for evaluating and treating this membrane system were largely developed by Dr John Upledger.

Who can help you and your body to heal?
My name is Tracy James and I am a Chartered Physiotherapist. I have practised CranioSacral Therapy for nearly two years.

My interest in CranioSacral Therapy has stemmed from my own personal experience of this approach to treat my chronic pain. I am truly amazed at the dramatic changes it has made and continues to make in my life.

What tips can CranioSacral Therapy teach you?
Healing is more about your journey than your destination.
You have the capacity to heal yourself.
By tapping into your body’s inner knowing, you can find health and experience your sense of wellbeing.
Listen to your body for it has the answers to your unanswered questions.
Your entire body is connected on many levels, including mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.
CranioSacral Therapy taps into all of these levels to achieve your sense of balance, to find your inner stillness and to experience your oneness.
Lastly, don’t forget to laugh. This is your healing gift.

To experience this holistic therapy or to find out more information see Tracy’s ad, or come to her talk at the Wokingham Group on July 30th (see page 3 for details).

The Well Life Practice is situated in Woodley.

Yvette Richards: Satvik Healing

In 1990 my life crashed, I hit ‘rock bottom’ and so began a personal development journey that has transformed my life. This journey began with 6 years of intensive counselling (addressing issues of addiction and codependency), which developed into a spiritual programme of transformation – one that I am still travelling!

In 1997 I was treated energetically for a physical complaint and was astounded by the dramatic and positive results - I began training the same year. Since 1998 I have been working with a form of healing founded upon the Taoist tradition of energy dynamics. It has created profound change for my clients and myself; clearing emotional, physical and spiritual traumas and being a catalyst for change.

Subhash (Sam) Rao: Yoga Teacher

TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF
I am 56 years old and have lived in this area, with my wife and two sons, for over 25 years. I run my own IT business from Wokingham and we live in Crowthorne. I have been practicing yoga since I was a boy. My father encouraged me to learn some of the postures, plus the art of “lathi”. This is a form of martial art using a 5’ staff and requires a strong but supple body. Following an injury to my lower back (result of wrong move in a squash game) I found myself moving further away from gym work towards yoga. Over 3 years ago I met my yoga teacher, Ruth White, an inspirational Iyengar Yoga teacher. Ruth has practiced with and has been coached by Mr. BKS Iyengar. To attach a Teacher’s qualification with Ruth takes between 2 - 3 years. I continue to attend as many weekend Teacher’s Training sessions as I can and gain more knowledge. I am very interested in understanding the human body and how yoga can benefit and effect the body, mind and spirit. In my classes I teach the postures with great emphasis on the effects of the postures on the body as a whole.

I’M NOT FIT AND I’M OVERWEIGHT, IS YOGA FOR ME?
This is by far the most common question I get. The yoga I teach is very traditional. Iyengar yoga concentrates on precision so you do not have to be ‘fit’ to build a yoga practice. After attending several classes everyone finds that postures slowly become easier. The body starts to become more supple and muscles begin to gain strength. The size of the person has no bearing on being able to do yoga, neither does age or gender!

CAN YOGA HELP ME LOSE WEIGHT?
This is another comment that comes regularly. Yes and no. Iyengar yoga stretches, strengthens and tones your muscles. You will find improvement in your posture so you look and feel better. As your muscles get toned your body shape will change. Weight is also a mind thing, however weight loss does come as the yoga practice progresses.

I HAVE NOT DONE YOGA BEFORE, DO YOU HAVE A BEGINNER’S CLASS?
I get asked this question a lot! All my classes are made up of a mixture of people with mixed yoga abilities. This way every beginner gets a chance to learn and move towards deeper and more advanced postures. The progress you make is personal to you. In the class everyone does the same postures but the extent to which you take the posture depends on your personal physical ability. As your body moves further you will be able to take the stretches further.

CAN PEOPLE WITH A MEDICAL CONDITION DO YOGA?
I am not a doctor so the first answer must come from your doctor. If you let me know what physical challenges you have, then I can modify postures to suit you. You may find yoga improves or eases the physical challenges. You can do yoga when you are pregnant or have back aches or knee problems. It is just a matter of being aware and doing yoga to benefit your body.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR AND BRING?
It is best to wear loose clothing. Towards the end of the class there is always a relaxation period so bring a blanket and a pair of socks to wear as you relax and your body cools down. Also invest in a yoga mat as most venues have wooden floors.

WHEN AND WHERE ARE YOUR CLASSES?

INTERVIEW WITH JULIE WOOTTEN, CRYSTAL HEALER
BODY IN BALANCE (May 2003)

Tell me about yourself and how you came to be involved with crystal healing
I first had healing 7 years ago. I’d had M.E. for 4 years then and was willing to try anything that might help - which healing did. After having healing for a couple of years I undertook the National Federation of Spiritual Healers training and probation period and qualified as an N.F.S.H. Healer over two years ago.

I was given a Turitella crystal for my energy levels and it helped me so much, that I decided to learn about crystals. Using crystals with the healing was a natural progression for me.
I have a teaching background, and decided to undertake workshops and crystal parties as a way of utilising my teaching skills and combine them with my interest in crystals and healing. Crystals have so many therapeutic uses and benefits that I want to share that knowledge.

Tell me about crystal healing
The use of crystals goes back to many ancient cultures. Over time, the properties of different crystals became known and the wisdom of crystals spread throughout the world. Crystals also have much natural power. As well as being decorative, crystals have many therapeutic and health benefits.

How can people benefit from this?
Each crystal has many health-giving properties, which can benefit a wide range of conditions from anxiety to whooping cough (sorry I can’t think of a condition beginning with z that crystals can help at this time!)

How are crystals used in healing?
Crystal healing is a gentle and subtle process. It combines the benefits of healing and the therapeutic properties of crystals chosen to suit your needs. You will be asked if there are any specific areas you would like help with - either regarding health, relationships or life in general. Crystals will then be selected for the healing that will bring benefit to your situation.
Crystal parties are a fun way to find out more about crystals. Workshops are a good way of extending your knowledge and taking it further.

Do people need to bring anything with them etc?
No, just an open mind!

Tell me about your classes/appointments/workshops etc?
I give Crystal Healing at my home in Binfield, or if necessary, at the patients home. I run workshops at various locations in the area and also run Meditation/Relaxation Classes in Binfield. Crystal parties are generally held in the host’s home.

How can you be contacted?
I can be contacted by phone: 01344 646499 (home) or 07968 304027 (mobile). My email address is bodyinbalance@btclick.com

My website should be up and running soon at www.bodyinbalance.org.uk

 JULIE’S 10 HOT TIPS
1. Choose crystals that you are drawn to.
2. Use your intuition!
3. Always wash/cleanse the crystal before use, as it will have absorbed a lot of energy from other people since it was mined.
4. Energise the crystal in sunlight or moonlight.
5. Programme or “dedicate” the crystal. Without this, the crystal will not know what you want to use it for (e.g. stress relief).
6. Keep the crystal about you – wear it as jewellery, put it in your pocket etc. to get maximum benefit from it.
7. Wash/energise crystals periodically to keep them working at their maximum for you.
8. Choose a therapist that you feel comfortable with.
9. Make time for yourself.
Enjoy your crystals and reap the benefit from them!

INTERVIEW WITH FAY SIMS, CLAIRVOYANT MEDIUM AND
PSYCHIC DEVELOPMENT TUTOR (June 2003)

Do you think you have always been clairvoyant?
No! I reached a stage when I felt I wanted to be but I wasn't sure how to go about it. Then I had a chance meeting (a synchronistic event!) with a Medium/Tarot reader that led to my first psychic circle, and I started from there. I have taken a long time to develop because, I now realise, of my own doubts and fears. I believe that everyone has psychic ability to varying degrees, and yes some seem to be "born with it", but you can develop it like any skill with some discipline, perseverance, lots of patience and of course desire!

Do you think Mediums are accurate all the time?
No! There are many different components that comprise a reading and these can affect the accuracy or perceived accuracy. The information that comes through to the Medium often needs interpretation and the medium's interpretation itself may be off mark. Their information and interpretation is also likely to be coloured by their own beliefs, experiences and personality. Sometimes the client doesn't recognise what is being said until after the reading, sometimes a long while later. Timing seems to be a particularly difficult area for accuracy. Clients may also misinterpret the message or may only hear what they want to hear. Like everyone, Mediums also have their off days!

Do you have any experience with other areas of metaphysics?
I started with a keen interest in astrology which led onto tarot cards. I have done many courses including spiritual healing and hypnotherapy. One of my fascinations is checking out "hauntings", I'd love to be Derek Acorah's apprentice!

How can you help other people?
I aim to use my skills and knowledge to empower people and to give an understanding of something beyond. Through my psychic development groups I offer people the opportunity to explore and develop their own abilities, in a friendly, encouraging environment. Having overcome my own difficulties in development, I believe I can better help others overcome theirs. Our Clairvoyant/Mediumship evenings provide a safe forum for people to practise demonstrating their psychic skills in front of a small audience. In general, I aim to help people to meet others, to share their interest and psychic experiences and to enjoy themselves.

My personal experience with Fay:
I have attended Fay's Evening of Clairvoyance and Mediumship which she runs with her friend Sally. The audience number is limited which allows them time, they hope, with each person. They were both accurate and obviously helpful in a loving and sympathetic atmosphere.

In my personal consultation with Fay I was surprised at her accuracy and detail. She received similar information I had received myself but her level of detail was much finer than mine. She "brought my picture into focus" as it were. She only works within a safe, loving, non-judgemental environment.

INTERVIEW WITH YVETE MCCANN, FABBODZ
HEALTH EDUCATOR & CONSULTANT (July 2003)

Why are you involved in Natural Health?
A love of life and reverence for nature motivates my keen interest in health & my enthusiasm for assisting others to restore & maintain their vitality. I was always a ‘kinesthetic kid’. I loved using & expressing the body; my body. But whilst I was robust, I wasn’t always well. I had all the usual (supposedly ‘normal’) childhood afflictions. Indeed, I had all the tell-tale signs of a toxic system. I was living in a body clogged with the pollution of modern life & unsupported by a nutritionally poor western diet. At age 12, a combination of puberty, ‘comfort’ eating & overeating in an attempt to address (what I now understand to have been) chronic nutritional deficiency, caused me to layer on a bit of blubber. As a consequence I began to deliberately investigate diet, health & well-being. This inquiry revealed to, & confirmed for me the critical place of nutrition & the common-sense wealth of Natural Health. However, whilst I sought the theory, I didn’t always get it right in practice. I struggled with fatigue & other symptoms for a further 25 years. Now, better informed & with a more balanced approach, I feel it’s time to share my interest & experience with others. I am currently consolidating 3 decades of self-study with a formal degree in Clinical Nutrition.
