MIND OVER MATTER
INTRODUCTION
Do you want to know how to use the power of your mind to heal your body and change your life? There are now hundereds of books, websites, CD's and even a few films telling you how you can do this. From Louise Hey, to the Field, to the Secret, there are different approaches and different vocabularies, but they are all basically saying the same thing.  YOUR MIND IS INCREDIBLY POWERFUL AND USED CORRECTLY IT CAN CREATE FOR YOU THE LIFE YOU DESIRE.
So how does this work? Well put simply you need to tell the Universe what you want and it will deliver. That's the way the Universe works. This works best if you are in a relaxed state - so perhaps a bit of meditation, or relaxing music to get you in the mood and then you send out your message. There are lots of different ways of sending your message, but this is the basic idea. Then you just wait for the Universe to deliver.
Of course its not quite as simple as that, or I'd already be a millionaire. Here are some of the key points I've picked up from various sources to help you on your way:-

Belief is key, you need to trully believe that you can bring about the change. So there's no point focusing on something that you know is impossible, or that your subconscious believes to be impossibe. In the later case, you may need to do some work on your negative beliefs first - perhaps affirmations, counselling or hypnotherapy.
- You need to focus on what you want, not what you don't want. So think 'I am healthy', not 'I don't want to be ill'; 'I am creating a wonderful future for myself', not 'I hate my life'. This is because you get what you focus on, so if you focus on the negative that's what you'll get.
- Don't worry, you aren't going to start manifesting every stray thought. It's what you focus on and put energy into that counts. So if you have negative thoughts, just notice and then change your thoughts to something positive. Its the continuous negative thoughts, especially those powered by emotions that cause the problems.
- Emotions give power to your thoughts. Posative emotions will help to manifest positive events and negative emotions will help to manifest negative events. So don't just think about what you want, feel it too. Feel how great it will be to be fit and healthy, imagine how it feels, imagine that you feel that way now. Imagine all the fun you will have with all that money you make - visualise your perfect house/holiday/car - see yourself there and experiance the emotions.
- One thought can be powerful enough to change your world, but for most of us daily reminders to keep positively focused on our goals are a good idea. So put up notes, pictures, whatever helps you to focus. On the otherhand, don't become obsessed and don't start worrying about it, that's totally counterproductive.
- Feeling good generally will help to draw positivity into your life, so make the most of whatever situation you find yourself in. Ensure your surroundings inspire you, whether that's putting pictures and pot plants in your office, or painting a mural on your kitchen wall. Take time to do the things you really want to do. The world won't come to an end if you skip some of your 'to do' list and have fun. No honestly it won't! In 'the Secret' they tell you to only do things you enjoy. My first reaction was 'that's great, I can just do what I like, but who's going to do my cleaning' A day later I worked out that if I managed to manifest £150,000 a year I could pay someone else to do my cleaning. Then gradually it dawned on me that maybe I could change the way I do the cleaning to make it more fun. So even if you find yourself doing something you'd rather not be doing, look for the fun in it.
